This folk art pottery is handmade in a 250+ year-old stone house. Each plate begins as a lump of red earthenware clay that is rolled flat with a rolling pin and then cut to fit the mold. The design is created using the Sgraffito technique where the top layer of clay is scratched away to reveal the red earthenware clay beneath.
