This policy was last updated on: January 17, 2024

Denise Wilz ("us", "we", or "our") operates www.wilzpottery.com ("site", “website”). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use and disclosure of Personal Information that we receive from users (“you”, “your”, “user”, “users”, "customer", "customers", "client", "clients") of this website.

We have created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm and continuing commitment to the privacy of personal information provided by those visiting and interacting with this website.

In addition, this statement will outline the rights of users and customers that are located in the European Union (“EU”), as it relates to the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) legislation.

This privacy policy explains how, why and what we do with the data we collect from you. If you have any questions about the policy, please contact us and we’ll be glad to help.

Your Consent

Simple: when you use our website, purchase a product and/or service from us, and/or sign up for our newsletter, personal information is collected.

By using our website you consent to our collection and use of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy. We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy at any time with or without notice.

Personal Information We Collect When You Use Our Website

Simple: when you interact with our website, certain information is collected. We use such information to help ensure that our website is optimized for our users, and to better align our marketing efforts with our users and customers.

We receive, collect and store any information you enter on our website or provide us in any other way. In addition, we collect the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet; login; e-mail address; password; computer and connection information and purchase history. We may use software tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information, and methods used to browse away from the page. We also collect personally identifiable information (including name, email, password, communications); payment details (including credit card information), comments, feedback, product reviews, recommendations, and personal profile.

When you conduct a transaction on our website, as part of the process, we collect personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address. Your personal information will be used for the specific reasons stated above only.

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”

Broadly speaking, we use this type of personal information for purposes of administering our business activities, to monitor the use of the service, for our marketing and promotional efforts and improve our content and service offerings, and customize our website's content, layout, services, and for other lawful purposes.

These uses improve our site and better tailor it to meet your needs. Furthermore, such information may be shared with others on an aggregate basis. Personally identifiable information or business information will not be shared with third parties except as required by law and/or to the extent to protect our legal rights.

Cookies and Log Files

Simple: our website uses Cookies and Log Files to distinguish website users from one another.

“Cookies” are unique identifiers that we transfer to your device to enable our systems to recognize your device and to provide features such as personalized advertisements on other Web sites and storage of items in your Shopping Cart between visits.

Most internet browsers have a Help feature that will instruct you on how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether. Because cookies allow you to receive some of our website’s essential features, we recommend that you leave them turned on. If you block or otherwise refuse the use of our cookies, you will not be able to add items to your Shopping Cart, proceed to Checkout, or use any products and services that require you to sign in.

As you visit and browse our website, the website uses cookies to differentiate you from other users. In some cases, we also use cookies to prevent you from having to log-in more than is necessary for security. Cookies, in conjunction with our Web server's log files, allow us to calculate the aggregate number of people visiting our website, and which parts of the site are most popular. This helps us gather feedback to constantly improve our Web site and better serve our clients.

“Log files” track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.

  3. To be able to contact our Visitors and Users with general or personalized service-related notices and promotional messages;

  4. To create aggregated statistical data and other aggregated and/or inferred Non-personal Information, which we or our business partners may use to provide and improve our respective services;

To comply with any applicable laws and regulations.

Storing, using, sharing and disclosing your personal information

Our company is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.

All direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com and used by our company adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

Personal Information We Collect When You Place An “Offline” Order

Simple: in order for us to provide the products and services that you requested by placing a manual, “offline” order, we require the same personal information necessary to complete an online order on our website.

Even if you choose to place an order “offline” (not on our website), we still require certain personal information to be able to fulfill and complete your order. This includes all of the required information needed for an online order (see above). We may use third parties that assist in the completion of your offline order.

Personal Information We Collect When You Contact Us

Simple: if you contact us, we collect and retain the content of your message(s), and may collect your IP Address as well.

If you choose to correspond with us through email or our Customer Relationship Management (“CRM”) contact form – located on our Contact Us page – we may retain the content of your messages together with your email address and our responses. Your IP Address will also be collected when contacting us through our CRM contact form.

We provide the same protections for these electronic communications that we employ in the maintenance of information received by mail and telephone.

We may contact you to notify you regarding your account, to troubleshoot problems with your account, to resolve a dispute, to collect fees or monies owed, to poll your opinions through surveys or questionnaires, to send updates about our company, or as otherwise necessary to contact you to enforce our User Agreement, applicable national laws, and any agreement we may have with you. For these purposes we may contact you via email, telephone, text messages, and postal mail.

Product Reviews and Product Questions

Simple: when you post a product review and/or ask a product question on our website, some of the information that you enter will be able to be viewed by the public on our website.

When you enter a product review on our website, you are required to enter a name (or nickname) and a location, as well as your review of the product. The name and location information that you enter for your product review can be viewed by the public on our website once you submit your review. You have full control over what name you use, and what location you enter, when writing your product review.

You can be as specific (using your real name, and your real city/state/province) or as vague (such as a completely made-up nickname, and something like “planet Earth” as your location) as you choose.

For our records, your email address and IP address are collected with your product review, but your email address and IP address are NOT available to the general public on our website.

Similarly, when you enter a product question on our website, you are required to enter your name, email, and your question about the product. For our records, your IP Address is also collected. The name and product question that you enter will be public on our website if/when we publish your product question. However, the email address that you enter and your IP Address will NOT be public on our website, and we will only use that information to communicate with you regarding your inquiry, if applicable.

Like our product reviews, you can make up a name if you do not want your real name to be publicly available on our website. We do not recommend putting personally identifiable information in your question (such as your address, email, phone number, etc.), though we do screen each product question before posting, and make every attempt to either edit or remove such information prior to posting it on our website. We also may choose not to publish your product question, if it contains such information.

Sharing and Selling Information

Simple: your personal information is only used to the extent that is necessary to process transactions or provide services that you have requested, or when we are legally compelled to disclose your information, or in other uses that protect ourselves or our other users. We do NOT sell or rent your information.

We do not share, sell, lend or lease any of the information that uniquely identify a subscriber (such as email addresses or personal details) with anyone except to the extent it is necessary to process transactions or provide services that you have requested.

Third Party Service Providers may be employed to perform functions on our behalf, such as processing payments, delivering packages, sending postal mail and e-mail, analyzing data, providing marketing assistance, providing search results and links (including paid listings and links), and providing customer service. They have access to personal information needed to perform their respective functions, but may not use it for other purposes.

We may disclose information when legally compelled to do so; in other words, when we, in good faith, believe that the law requires it or for the protection of our legal rights. We may also disclose account information when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be violating our Terms of Service or to protect the safety of our users and the Public. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction, but this does not include selling, renting, sharing, or otherwise disclosing personally identifiable information about customers for commercial purposes in violation of this Privacy Policy.
